Top 100 Blogs

Fascinating post on SEOmoz examining the Internet's top blogs.  It includes a downloadable list of the top 100 blogs, which is based on a mix of metrics.  Lots of interesting information, including:

  • 66% of the top 100 blogs are self-owned.
  • Only about 20% of the top 100 blogs are owned by large corporations.
  • Technology (57% of the top 100) and politics (18%) lead in terms of top 100 blog subjects.
  • All 100 are "professional" blogs - by that I mean they are done for business purposes.

We've posted quite a bit on the growth of small online publishers.  This list nicely illustrates this trend.
